Getz Fire Equipment Company has been a recognized leader in the fire protection industry since 1957 when Melvin Getz first opened the doors with determination and enthusiasm. During Melvin’s 43-year reign, the company has grown and diversified into a multi-million dollar business. In January 2000, Melvin Getz retired selling the company to his son Rod Getz.

Rod Getz had been with Getz Fire Equipment for twenty-six years prior to purchasing the company. He continues with the same commitment to quality and excellence that our customers have become accustomed to.

Rod’s philosophy is to be a progressive leader in the fire protection and safety industries by doing something about it. He is presently active on several boards and is a member of several organizations helping to make our community and the fire equipment industry a better place.

The Getz Family has returned to the service equipment industry after 18 years. Family members include Rod Getz (Owner), Melvin Getz (Founder), Rob Getz, Jeff Getz, and introducing the third generation, Jesse Getz (VP Operations) and Jason Getz (VP Administration).  With fifty-one years of experience in the fire protection industry, Getz Fire Equipment has started a new division, Getz Equipment Innovators, to develop new, state-of-the-art service equipment.
