About Us
Getz Fire Equipment Company has been a recognized leader in
the fire protection industry since 1957 when Melvin Getz
first opened the doors with determination and enthusiasm.
For 43 years, Melvin's leadership led the company through
unprecedented growth and diversification into a
multi-million dollar business. In the early years, Getz
Manufacturing, one of several Getz divisions, designed and
produced fire extinguisher service equipment and built
service vehicles.
This division was sold in 1990. In 2000, Melvin
retired and sold the company to his son Rod.
Rod Getz has been with Getz Fire Equipment since 1974 and he continues to foster the same commitment to quality and excellence that our customers are accustomed to.
Rod is presently active on the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), NAFED (National Association of FireEquipment Distributors) and several other boards in our industry, and volunteers with the local Boys and Girls Club and other service organizations, helping to make both our community and industry better places
Getz Fire Equipment Company sells

service. Rod Getz maintains an open mind concerning business
opportunities and is continually looking for ways to
diversify and grow. Getz works with residential, commercial,
and industrial clients - anyone who is in need for fire
protection, first aid and safety supplies, and/or any type of high-pressure cleaning.
Rod's philosophy to be a progressive leader in the Fire Protection and Safety Industries led to the start (or restart) of Getz Equipment Innovators in early 2008. The combined experience of family members Rod, Melvin, Jeff, and introducing a third generation, Jesse Getz (VP Operations) and Jason Getz (VP Administration) has led to the development of service equipment products that have a proven track record of innovation, quality and efficiency.
